Waterproofing and damp proofing differ in the following ways:-
* Damp proofing stops soil moisture, while waterproofing stops moisture and liquid water.
* Waterproofing materials are flexible, thick and durable, whereas damp proofing materials are brittle and rigid.
* Waterproofing can resist water under hydrostatic pressure, but damp proofing cannot.
* Waterproofing can bridge bigger cracks, but damp proofing cannot.
* Waterproofing is used in extreme weather conditions, whereas damp proofing is used in normal weather conditions.
