Damp proofing of AAC blocks inside a flat can be done through the following steps:-
1. Identify the source:-
Determine where the moisture is coming from (e.g., rain, plumbing, condensation).
2. Clean the walls:-
Thoroughly clean the AAC block walls to remove any dirt, grime, or old adhesives.
3. Apply a bonding agent:-
Use a suitable bonding agent to create a strong bond between the AAC blocks and the damp proofing material.
4. Apply damp proofing material:-
Use a brush or roller to apply a damp proofing material (e.g., polymer-modified bitumen, acrylic-based coating) to the entire wall surface, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Ensure coverage:-
Make sure to cover all areas, including corners, edges, and any gaps or joints.
6. Allow to dry:-
Let the material dry completely according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
7. Apply additional coats:-
If necessary, apply additional coats to achieve the desired level of damp proofing.
8. Finishing:-
Once the damp proofing material is fully dry, you can paint or finish the walls as desired.
